WEEKLY: China’s processed coking coal output stable
02 Apr 2021
The total output of processed coking coal from the 110 wash plants under Mysteel’s weekly survey was generally unchanged this week, rising only slightly by 400 tonnes/day on week to 599,000 t/d as of March 30, the report published on March 31 showed. Output was generally stable because the slower rate of processing at sampled miner-affiliated plants was offset by higher output from independent washers, the survey found.
Over the survey period of March 24-30, coal mining and processing in Jinzhong city’s Zuoquan county, in North China’s Shanxi, slowed because of a coal and gas burst accident at the Shigang underground coal mine in the county on March 25 that killed four workers.
