Weekly US coal ship departures drop seven on week to 34: cFlow

Weekly US coal ship departures totaled 34 in the week ended June 12, down seven from the previous week and up 15 from the year-ago week, data from cFlow, Platts trade flow software, showed June 15.
 
The departing laden and part-laden ships carried almost 2.3 million dwt, down 15.4% from the week before.
Gulf Coast departures totaled 18, down one week on week and up seven from the year-ago week.
 
The departing coal carriers held nearly 1.2 million dwt, up 39.8% from the previous week.
 
From the gulf, nine carriers departed to Central America, while two each headed toward the North Atlantic and the UK and Continent. One each left to Brazil, Canada, the Mediterranean, North Africa and the Baltics.
 
Two coal carriers left from the West Coast, down four from the week before and down one from the year-ago week.
 
In the most recent week, the departing ships carried 89,463 dwt, down 74.4% from the previous week.
 
One carrier departed to Central America, while another left to Canada.
 
Departures off the Atlantic Coast fell two week on week to 14. Compared to the year-ago week, they jumped nine.
 
The ships carried 1 million dwt, down 32.7% week on week.
 
Four ships each were headed toward the North Atlantic, while two each were directed toward the UK and Continent and the Baltics. One each went to the Mediterranean, Central America, North Africa, the Caribbean, Brazil and the ARA.
