China coal mine explosion kills 11: state media – World iv News

BEIJING: An explosion at a coal mine killed 11 people in northern China’s Shaanxi province, state media reported on Tuesday.

The explosion occurred at 8:26 p.m. on Monday at the Xintai coal mine near the city of Yan’an, the state broadcaster said CCTV she said, citing the city’s emergency management office.

About 90 people were in the mine at the time of the explosion, nine of whom were trapped inside and “were found without vital signs” by 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, according to CCTV.
