China Reignites Mothballed Coal-Fired Power Plants – Caixin

Two mothballed coal-fired power plants in China’s northwest will start pumping out electricity again, in the latest sign that policymakers still see the polluting fossil fuel as key to their energy security, Caixin reported.
The move comes after a storm of coal-related issues drove widespread power outages and rationing around the country in September and October last year, denting production in some sectors.
