CLP Group to phase out coal-fired power plants by 2040

Electric utility company CLP Group will phase out coal-fired power plants by 2040, bringing forward its previously stated commitment by a decade.
CLP announced the new targets in a statement on Thursday and said that it is committed to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
The company also unveiled its updated Climate Vision 2050 plan, under which it will look to increase the adoption of rooftop solar power generation and invest in offshore wind projects in China.
