Germany plans gas auctions to add 25 GW as alternative to coal by 2030: minister

Germany plans to auction gas power plants this year as part of a plan to add 25 gigawatt of capacity as an alternative to coal by 2030, Economy Minister Robert Habeck said on Thursday.

The government is in talks with renewables industries about possible purchase guarantees to raise production capacities, Habeck said in a press conference in Berlin.
