participation and enhancing the share of captive and commercial mines in
India’s coal production.
New Delhi: India’s coal production from captive and commercial
mines crossed 100 million tonnes (MT) as of November 8, 2024, a milestone
reached nearly 100 days earlier than in the previous financial year, according
to the ministry of coal. This progress aligns with Prime Minister Narendra
Modi’s vision of a self-reliant (Atmanirbhar) and developed (Viksit) Bharat,
marking a 33% increase from the same period last year.
