Transforming coal waste into energy to mine bitcoin

The U.S. state of Pennsylvania has thousands of abandoned mines that threaten the environment, as coal waste can seep into the water supply, and piles set on fire emitting toxic gasses.

One company is reclaiming the refuse and turning it into energy to mine Bitcoin, to help the community and create a revenue stream. 

But some energy environmentalists say there are better and more efficient ways to clean up.
